Welcoming Summer on Nova Scotia’s Authentic Seacoast

As the countdown to summer begins in earnest, our places are getting ready to welcome the world to the historic Guysborough harbour. We kicked off the season with the Authentic Seacoast Distillery & Brewery opening on May 27th. Now in its first full year of operation, this spectacular new facility is a fitting showcase for our award-winning spirits and craft beer. DesBarres Manor Inn also opened for dinner service with their Chedabucto Bay Lobster Festival continuing through June. Good food, warm Maritimes hospitality and romance await. Things kickoff in earnest down on the Guysborough waterfront in mid-June with the opening of Skipping Stone Café & Store on June 16th and the >Rare Bird Pub on June 24th. Named by Where as one of Canada’s 10 great craft beer destinations, the Rare Bird Pub is the perfect spot to raise a pint to Nicholas Denys, the enterprising Acadian who started Atlantic Canada’s first brewery here in Guysborough. Across the courtyard, the Skipping Stone Café & Store is the perfect spot to start your day with a cup of our organic, fair trade Full Steam Coffee and a delicious baked treat from the Habour Belle Bakery. The canoe table is the perfect spot to meet friends old and new over a cup of coffee. Skipping Stone offers bicycle and sea kayak rentals, the perfect way to explore Guysborough from the land and sea.
